No electricity, no soap – #power2viome

With help from solidaristic friends and neighbours. Vio.Me soap factory has been able to maintain its production, after the greek goverment cut the power supply.

On March 30 two armed police units entered the factory in the morning and enabled the electricity company to cut the Vio.Me factory from the electricity grid.

In the midst of the Corona crisis, the Greek state is preventing a production plant for essential hygiene products from producing, despite the fact that negotiations are currently underway with the Greek Ministry of Economy to fully legalise the plant.

It is even more stunning, when one knows that Vio.Me wants to produce for the refugee camps on the Greek islands in order to support the camps in misery, which have been left alone by the Greek state and the European Union likewise.

Emergency power generators were able to save the daily production and since then the production continues with these generator. By doing so the workers of Vio.Me show that they are not willing to give up. The project of a self-organized and solidary work without hierarchies is alive.

Donate for a power generator – #power2viome

We, Die Seiferei – selbstverwaltet and solidarisch, have founded our project to support this work. The VioMe project shows that even under the conditions of a severe economic crisis, which has not only been affecting Greece for years, it is possible to work and live beyond capitalism and dependency.

So far we hoped to make a small contribution by importing Vio.Me products.

But now quick aid is needed. VioMe needs a powerful power generator to make them independent of the state power grid.

The Greek Solidarity Committee in Cologne, with whom we are in contact, started an appeal for donations two weeks ago, which we are happy to support.

Here you can read the appeal for donations: http://gskk.org/?p=6078#more-6078

At the moment there are already about 2500 Euro collected to buy a proper generator, but you need at least 6000 Euro. Help to keep the project Vio.Me alive!
